George L.Rossi;aged 36 years;well known resident of Allenport since boyhood;died Wednesday;evening;November 16;1938;at 7:56 o’clock following an illness of three weeks. Within the past week;Mr.Rossi had undergone two operations for a carbuncle on his neck;which had its beginning about three weeks ago. Infection spreading into the blood stream caused his death;it is reported. Several transfusions were administered yesterday but all effors were to no avail. His passing was a shock to the community in which he was so well known. Mr.Rossi;a son of the late Emma Innocenti Rossi and Italo Rossi;conducted a grocery store in Allenport. He was born September 28;1902 in Italy and came to the United States at a tender age. He was a member of the Allenport Methodist Episcopal Church. Surviving are his wife;Mrs.Catherine Kelly Rossi;one son;George Haines Rossi;his father;Italo Rossi;one brother;Albert Rossi;of Maple View and one sister;Mrs.Joseph Guerra;of Monessen. Funeral services will be held in the Allenport M.E.Church at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon;November 19;1938. The Rev.R.P.Andrews;of Charleroi M.E.Church and the Rev.Harold Porter;minister of the Allenport Church;will jointly officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Friends are being received at the home;where the remains will repose until the hour for the services Saturday.
