Obituary

Staff Sergeant George K.Corbett,41,a career airman from Pricedale,was killed instantly at midnight,Saturday April 16,1960,when his motorbike ran into the rear of a car in San Antonio,Texas. Sergeant Corbett was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He had only one year and a half to serve before drawing his 20-year retirement from the Air Force. He was stationed at Medina Air Force Base in San Antonio. Born in Webster on Oct.18,1918,Sergeant Corbett attended LeGrange Elementary School and Rostraver High School. He was the son of William and Sarah Corbett. Surviving are his mother,three brothers,James K.of Houston Run,Joseph of Belle Vernon and Paul of Bentleyville R.D.,and four sisters,Mrs.William (Mary) Fowler of Leetsdale,Mrs.Jack (Josephine) Moore of Leasure City,Fla.,Mrs Charles (Margaret) Radec of Pricedale,and Mrs.John (Helen) Pierce of Pricedale. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,beginning Thursday evening at seven o'clock. Services will be held there Saturday,April 23,1960,at 1 p.m.in charge Rev.Eugene Spear,pastor of the First Methodist Church,Belle Vernon. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
