Obituary

George Kopko,59,of 1101 Leeds Ave.,Monessen,died suddenly at 8:30 a.m. Friday,April 10,1981,at his residence. Mr.Kopko was born March 19,1922,in Monessen,a son of the late George Kopko Sr.,who died in January,1977,and Anna Kulenic Kopko,who survives,and resides in Monessen. He was a life-long resident of Monessen. A World War II veteran of the U.S.Marine Corps,Mr.Kopko,retired in 1970 from the Shipping Department of the Page Division of American Chain and Cable Co.in Monessen. At the time of his death,he owned and operated Kopko's Grill on Leeds Avenue,Monessen. Mr.Kopko was a member of St.Leonard's R.C.Church,American Legion Post 28,and BPO Elks Lodge 773,,all of Monessen. In addition to his father,he was preceded in death by a son,George Robert Kopko,in April of 1976. In addition to his mother,he is survived by his wife,Helen Bialon Kopko,at home,and a sister,Mrs.Betty Ann Baxter,of Donora. Friends will be received in the Robert A.Billick Funeral Home,Inc.,Grand Blvd.and Marion Ave.,Monessen,Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Blessing Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home,followed at 11 a.m. by Mass of Christian Burial in St.Leonard Roman Catholic Church,Monessen,with the Rev.Henry P.Dinicco,pastor,as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Robert A.Billick Funeral Home,Inc.,is in charge of arrangements.
