George Kopko;59;of 1101 Leeds Ave.;Monessen;died suddenly at 8:30 a.m. Friday;April 10;1981;at his residence. Mr.Kopko was born March 19;1922;in Monessen;a son of the late George Kopko Sr.;who died in January;1977;and Anna Kulenic Kopko;who survives;and resides in Monessen. He was a life-long resident of Monessen. A World War II veteran of the U.S.Marine Corps;Mr.Kopko;retired in 1970 from the Shipping Department of the Page Division of American Chain and Cable Co.in Monessen. At the time of his death;he owned and operated Kopko’s Grill on Leeds Avenue;Monessen. Mr.Kopko was a member of St.Leonard’s R.C.Church;American Legion Post 28;and BPO Elks Lodge 773;;all of Monessen. In addition to his father;he was preceded in death by a son;George Robert Kopko;in April of 1976. In addition to his mother;he is survived by his wife;Helen Bialon Kopko;at home;and a sister;Mrs.Betty Ann Baxter;of Donora. Friends will be received in the Robert A.Billick Funeral Home;Inc.;Grand Blvd.and Marion Ave.;Monessen;Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Blessing Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home;followed at 11 a.m. by Mass of Christian Burial in St.Leonard Roman Catholic Church;Monessen;with the Rev.Henry P.Dinicco;pastor;as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Robert A.Billick Funeral Home;Inc.;is in charge of arrangements.
