Obituary

George Coleman Sr.of 833 Meadow Ave.,Charleroi,died Wednesday,Sept.3,1986,in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 84. Mr.Coleman was born May 1,1902,in Fayette City,a son of the late George and Mary Roman Coleman. He was a member of Saints Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church,Charleroi,and its Holy Name Society. Mr.Coleman was also a member of the Oldtimers Club,the Goldenagers,the Belgium Club and the Senior Citizens Association,all of Charleroi. He was retired from Corning Glass Company,Charleroi plant. Survivors include his wife,Ann Mihalik Coleman,one son,George Coleman Jr.,of Bristol,Tenn.,three daughters,Mrs.Howard (Ann Marie) Scalzi of Overland Park,Kansas,Mrs.Robert (Cynthia) Watkins of Roscoe and Mrs.Ronald (Georgeann) Stover of Charleroi,15 grandchildren,two great-grandchildren,one brother,Michael Coleman of Charleroi,and one sister,Mary Kendrick of Charleroi. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Carl J.Spallino Funeral Home,819 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,where a Panachida will be held Saturday,Sept.6,at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m.in Saints Cyril and Methodius Church,Charleroi,with the Rev.Michael Buleza,pastor of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church of Charleroi,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Prayer service will be held Thursday at 8:30 p.m.in the funeral home. A Parastas service will be held Friday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. The Carl J.Spallino Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
