Obituary

Services were held Monday,July 16,1979 for George J. Fabian of 908 Dawson Ave., Lynnwood, Belle Vernon, who died Friday, July 13, 1979, in Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 62. Mr. Fabian was born June 19, 1917, in Farrell, Pa., a son of the late John and Mary Kentoski Fabian. He is survived by his widow, Margaret Modrak Fabian, a son, George J. Fabian II of Belle Vernon, one daughter, Mrs. John G (Barbara) Lesko of Lynnwood, one brother, Steve Fabian of Bodenton, Md., three sisters, Mrs. Mary Brighetti of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Mary Holowaty of Monessen, and Mrs. Ann Smee of Mentor, Ohio, one grandson, John Michael Lesko II, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Fabian was preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew, John, and Michael, and also by two sisters, Mrs. Anne Servetnicky and Mrs. Margaret Monack. Mr. Fabian was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, as well as Knights of Columbus Council 3026, all of Belle Vernon. He had been a resident of the Belle Vernon community for more than 30 years. He was a foreman at the sinter plant of WheelingPittsburgh Steel Corp. in Monessen, where he had been employed for more than 43 years. Visitation was held Saturday and Sunday at the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Prayer service was held at the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o'clock at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Interment was in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
