George James Burger,65,of Charleroi R.D.1,died unexpectedly Monday,March 30,1987 in his home. He was born Aug.26,1921,in Monessen,a son of George and Anna Kromer Burger. He was a member of St.Jerome Catholic Church,Charleroi. He was a veteran of World War II,having served with the U.S.Coast Guard. He was a former employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.in Monessen,retiring from the mill in 1982. He was a member of the United Steelworkers of America. Survivors include his wife,Evelyn Cunningham Burger,two daughters,Mrs.Edward (Joanne) Bular of Charleroi RD 1 and Mrs.Charles (Shirley) Bear of Wheaton,Ill;two grandsons,Justin and Jared Bular;one sister,Mrs.Jack (Mary) Kugler of Brooklyn,N.Y.;four brothers,Joseph,Francis,Thomas and Vincent Burger,all of Monessen,and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Greenlee Funeral Home,619 Main St.,Bentleyville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday,April 2,1987,at 10 a.m.in St.Jerome's Roman Catholic Church with the Rev.Marcucci officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded by the Bentleyville American Legion Post No.165. The Greenlee Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
