Obituary

George J.Thieser of Belle Vernon R.D.5,died Monday,Feb.23,1981 at 7:02 p.m.in the Mercy Hospital,Pittsburgh. He was 68. Born Jan.22,1913 in Belle Vernon,he was the son of the late Nicholas and Rose Limbach Thieser. He was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area community. Mr.Thieser retired in Jan.1975 from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel,Monessen plant,where he had been employed in the open hearth. He was a World War II veteran,having served with the U.S.Army 99th Infantry Division. He had fought in the Battle of the Buldge. Mr.Thieser was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. Survivors include his widow,Helen Venneri Thieser,a daughter,Mrs.Leonard (Charlene) Povrzenich of Belle Vernon R.D.5,two sisters,Mrs.Elizabeth Bell and Mrs.Rose Gaul,both of Belle Vernon,two granddaughters,Jill and Stacey Povrzenich,both of Belle Vernon R.D.5,and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Friends will be received in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 services will be conducted Thursday at 7:15 p.m.at the funeral home. A blessing service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
