George Hill,72,of 921 Grant St.,Monessen,died Thursday morning,December 17,1959 at 4:30 o'clock in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Mr. Hill was a retired miner,and was a member of United Mine Workers of America District 5. He belonged to Masonic Lodge 79 of Monessen and the Union Baptist Church of Monessen. He is survived by his wife,Hazel;five sons,James,Eugene,Bruce,George and Neil,all of Monessen;four daughters,Mrs. Hazel Garland of McKeesport,Mrs. Mary Smith,Mrs. Alice Johnson and Mrss. Doris Wheeler,all of Monessen;17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Friends are being received at the late home,where Prayer services will be held on Saturday,Dec.19,with additional services to follow at 11 a.m. from the Union Baptist Church,Monessen. The Rev. E.W. Jarrett will officiate. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. DuBoise Carter,funeral director.
