Obituary

A fractured skull,sustained in a crash in Charleroi Saturday morning,September 25,1931,when an A&P truck collided with a Buick coupe driven by Lawrence Bailey,proved fatal to George Hazlett Junk,22,son of Harry C.Sybia Davis Junk,of 349 Isabelle Avenue,North Charleroi,his death occurring Sunday morning September 26,1931,at 1:25 o'clock. The victim,who was night man at Henry Lowstuter garage,was driving to Lookout Avenue with Bailey,early Saturday morning to return the car to the garage. As the two crossed Fallowfield Avenue on Seventh Street,the coupe was sideswiped by the big A&P truck,being driven by Thomas Lewis,of 307 Jacob Street,Pittsburgh. Edward Wendell,of Pittsburgh,also was riding with Lewis. Junk was precipitated through the glass of the door on the right side of the coupe,which was turned around by the impact. He was thrown against the sidewalk,his head hitting a curb. The victm of the accident was 22 years of age and was born in Greensburg January 25,1909. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon,September 29,1931,at 2:30 o'clock from the late home,with interment at Belle Vernon Cemetery. They will be in charge of Rev.Frank S.Montgomery,pastor of the Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church.
