George F. White of Belle Vernon died suddenly on Saturday; May 8; 2004; at his home. He was born June 20; 1928; the only child of the late George H. and Gertrude Livingston White. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Mr. White was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company; Monessen plant; where he worked for 38 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years; Marietta S. White. He is survived by two sons; Craig White of Orange Park; Fla.; and James White of Smithfield; five grandchildren; Amanda; Craig P.; and Kaitlyn of Orange Park; Fla.; and Lindsey and Ashley of Smithfield. Burial was in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in June. Arrangements were handled by the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE; Belle Vernon.
A blessing service was held yesterday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICE; 700 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon; for George F. White; 75; of Belle Vernon; who died Saturday; May 8; 2004. He was born June 25; 1928; a son of the late George H. and Gertrude Livingston White. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Mr. White retired from the Monessen plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran; having served during World War II and a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. Survivors include his wife; Florence White; with whom he would have celebrated nine years of marriage on May 20; 2004; two sons; Craig and Jim White; two stepsons; five grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren. Burial was in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
