Said to have participated in a general riot at the Clover Leaf Restaurant,Broad avenue,Belle Vernon,Sunday morning May 16,1926,at 12:30 o'clock George Conoghan,26 years old, a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon and well-known here was stabbed to death in the neck. Jacob Smock 30 years old,of Belle Vernon,is being held in the Belle Vernon jail on a charge of the murder. Mr. Conoghan,for a number of years,has been employed as a clerk at the tube mill in Monessen. He is survived by his parents,Mr.and rRs. Charles Conoghan,a sister Helen,and Manus,his brother. The family had recently removed from Belle Vernon to Monessen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Christian Church,Belle Vernon,with the Rev.Lewis in charge. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
