Obituary

George C.Lynn of Gillespie,Fayette City R.D.1,died Saturday,May 12,1984,at 3:45 p.m.in Mercy Hospital,Pittsburgh,following a lengthy illness. He was 57. Mr.lynn was born Sept.29,1926,in Washington Township,Fayette County,a son of the late Hamilton and Rose Weltzel Lynn. Protestant by faith,he was a member of the Gillespie Slovak Club. Mr.Lynn had served with the U.S.Army during World War II. He was a retired coal miner. In addition to his parents,Mr.Lynn was preceded in death by a sister,Flora Belle McGavitt. Survivors include his wife,Marie G.Stonfer Lynn,two sons,George Jr.of New Stanton and Stephan (Randy) of Fayette City R.D.1,four grandchildren,two brothers,Hamilton of Pricedale and John of Charleroi,and one sister,Mrs.Margaret Lynn Hollis of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received all day Monday in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,and on Tuesday until 2 p.m. at which time services will be held with the Rev.Mary Howard,pastor of the Marion United Presbyterian Church of Fairhope,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
