George C.Lynn of Gillespie;Fayette City R.D.1;died Saturday;May 12;1984;at 3:45 p.m.in Mercy Hospital;Pittsburgh;following a lengthy illness. He was 57. Mr.lynn was born Sept.29;1926;in Washington Township;Fayette County;a son of the late Hamilton and Rose Weltzel Lynn. Protestant by faith;he was a member of the Gillespie Slovak Club. Mr.Lynn had served with the U.S.Army during World War II. He was a retired coal miner. In addition to his parents;Mr.Lynn was preceded in death by a sister;Flora Belle McGavitt. Survivors include his wife;Marie G.Stonfer Lynn;two sons;George Jr.of New Stanton and Stephan (Randy) of Fayette City R.D.1;four grandchildren;two brothers;Hamilton of Pricedale and John of Charleroi;and one sister;Mrs.Margaret Lynn Hollis of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received all day Monday in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;and on Tuesday until 2 p.m. at which time services will be held with the Rev.Mary Howard;pastor of the Marion United Presbyterian Church of Fairhope;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
