George Bindi; 97; of Monessen; died Monday; April 9; 2007; in Southwestern Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born in Monessen on Dec. 16; 1909; the son of the late Domenico and Laura Parigi Bindi. He was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a 1928 graduate of Monessen High School. Mr. Bindi was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church; the former St. Cajetan Bowling League; and the AARP; all of Monessen. He retired from the Monessen plant of Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel Corp.; having worked as a machinist in the machine shop. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Anne and Scott McCafferty; of Speers; and Janet and Kevin Grady; of Johnstown; six grandchildren; Tracy Ackerman; Robert McCafferty; Lisa Karner; Ericka Grady; Kevin Grady Jr. and Christopher Grady; four great-grandchildren; Alexa and Anthony Karner; and Jacob and Kylie Ackerman; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Delma Picchiarini Bindi; in 2004; and a brother; Harry Bindi. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC.; 441 Reed Ave.; Monessen (724-684-8750). Services will be held Thursday; April 12; beginning with a 9:30 a.m. blessing in the funeral home; followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church.
