George Bednar, 75,died Monday morning, March 22,1948,at his home in Gillespie. He was a member of the American Russian Society 142 of Charleroi and the Holy Ghost Greek Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Anna Matalick Bednar; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Teringo and Mrs. Anna Kopnisky of Warren, Ohio and Mrs. Helen Kozel of Gillespie; seven sons, Andrew, of Gillespie,George,Jr.and Edward of Perryopolis,John of Warren, Ohio, and Fred, Peter and Joseph,at home. Three brothers, Mike and Joe of Gillespie and Andrew in Europe; two sisters, Elizabeth and Catherine in Europe and 21 grandchildren. Friends are being received at the home. The funeral party will meet at the home at 9 a.m. Friday and Requiem High Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Greek Catholic Church at Charleroi in charge of Rev. M.A. Kaimakin,pastor. Burial will be made in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
