Obituary

George Protos, 64, of Perryopolis R.D. 2, died Wednesday,Oct. 15,1980 at 6 p.m. in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a lengthy illness. Born Nov. 8, 1915 in Vandergrift, he was the son of the late Arthur and Connie Marces Protos. Mr. Protos was employed as a truck driver, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was past vice president and past recording secretary of the American Federation of Labor Local 872, Charleroi. Syrvivors include two sons,Arthur and Andrew Protos,both of Perryoplois R.D.2,a daughter,Mrs.Melvin (Connie) Erler of Perryopolis R.D.2,three brothers,Manuel Protos of Houston,Texas,Dr.Angelo A.Protos of Staten Island,N.Y.,and John Protos of Las Cruses,N.M.,and a sister,Mrs.Irene Costaris of Asbury Park,N.J. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,Friday and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m.at the funeral home with the Pastor David Johnson of the World Wide Church of God officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
