Obituary

George A. Walters, 72, of 303 Shepard Ave., North Charleroi, formerly of Nemacolin, Pa., died Wednesday,May 17,1972, at 8:55 p.m. in Charleroi- Monessen Hospital. He was born in Uniontown Aug. 31, 1899, a son of Thomas and Roxlina Downs Walters. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Charleroi, F&AM Lodge 153 of Waynesburg, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Coudersport,Pa. He was a veteran of World War I. He was a retired employee of the Buckeye Coal Co., Nemacolin. He moved to North Charleroi four years ago. Surviving are his widow, Margaret Owens Walters, one daughter, Mrs. Vincent (Roxlina) Tamblyn of Endicott N. Y., his mother, Mrs. Roxlina Pletcher of Brownsville, two brothers, the Rev. Thomas Pletcher of Kansas City,Mo.,and Charles Pletcher of Carmichaels,two sisters,Mrs.Charles T.Harden of Brownsville and Mrs.Gwendolyn Higgbotham of Uniontown and two grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harold L.Schrock Funeral Home,Charleroi,where a service will be held Saturday,May 20,1972,at 1 p.m.with the Rev.Frank A.Bodnar officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold L.Schrock,funeral director.
