Genevieve (Jean) M. Samek; 90; of Arnold City; Belle Vernon; died Monday; July 4; 2011; at the Mount Macrina Manor; Uniontown. She was born in Arnold City on May 25; 1921; the daughter of the late Mike and Julia Osikowicz Pabis. She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church; Belle Vernon. Jean; with her late husband; Steve P. Samek; and brother; Charles J. Pabis; owned and operated the Palms in Fayette City. She was preceded in death by her husband; Steve P. Samek; brothers; Charles; Mitchell and John Pabis; and a sister; Julia S. Pabis. She is survived by a son; David. S. Samek and wife; Janet; of Belle Vernon; a grandson; David M. Samek; of Belle Vernon; a granddaughter; Renee and husband Barry Miklos; of Belle Vernon; great-grandsons; Anthony and Ryan Miklos; two sisters-in-laws; Ester Pabis; of Monessen; and Mary Muzina; of Broadman; Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. A private visitation will be held for family members on Friday; July 8; from 7 to 9 p.m. in the ELEY/MCCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC.; Fayette City. A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday; July 9; followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Sebastian Catholic Church; Belle Vernon; with the Msgr. Roger A. Statnick; as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers; memorial contributions may be given to St. Sebastian Catholic Church.
