Obituary

Geneva Dupree Turner Calloway, 75, of Arnold City, Belle Vernon, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, in the home of her daughter, Jacalyn R. Mills. Mrs. Calloway was born Nov. 27, 1926, in Geary, W.Va., a daughter of the late Purvey and Lenora Dupree Dupree. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Norris Turner, and by her second husband, Samuel Wesley Calloway, eight brothers, David, Milton, Sylvester, Harding (Gator), Robert (Sonny), and Lloyd Dupree and two brothers at birth, two sisters, Cora Dupree Thrasher and Mary (Bootsie) Dupree Ross, and a stepmother, Aggie Lee Dupree. Mrs. Calloway was secretary and superintendent of the First Christian Church of Wickhaven, and also Church Mother, and a member of the Greater PA State Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Inc. She had retired from the former Miller's of Charleroi. Surviving are three daughters, Linda (Turner) Mounds of Harrisburg, Jacalyn R. (Turner) Mills of Belle Vernon, and Donna (Turner) Mills of Monessen, one sister, Rosa McCarthy of Belle Vernon, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Viewing will be from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at the First Christian Church of Wickhaven, where funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, is handling the arrangements.
