Garnet Shaffer,77,of 203 Prospect Ave.,Charleroi,died Saturday,Nov. 12,1988,at 3:09 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Nov. 13,1910,in Charleroi, a daughter of the late William and Bertha Lovejoy Palfrey. Mrs. Shaffer was a resident of Charleroi her entire life,and was a member of the First Christian Church of Fallowfield Twp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister,Genevieve Kollar,and a niece,Patricia Griffith. Surviving are her husband, Francis Shaffer;two sons and daughters-in-law,William and Joan Shaffer and Robert and Patricia Shaffer,all of Charleroi;two grandchildren,Dana Rebovich and Dawn Contino;and one sister, Isabelle Griffith,of Warren, Ohio. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home,819 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,where services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m.,with Dr. George Hickok of the First Christian Church of Fallowfield Twp.officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
