Obituary

Services were held Wednesday,Sept.8,1982 for Gale T.Atkins of 427 Fell St.,Belle Vernon,who died Sunday,Sept.5,1982,at 8:28 a.m. in Monongahela Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp. Mr.Atkins was 44. Mr.Atkins was born Sept.14,1937,in Belle Vernon,a son of the late Clarence anbd Evelyn Summerville Atkins. He was a life-long resident of Belle Vernon and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon. He also was a social member of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659. Mr.Atkins was retired from Royal Hydraulics in Bentleyville,where he had worked as a welder. He is survived by his widow,Eleanor Dziak Atkins,one son,Gary T.Atkins of Belle Vernon,two daughters,Mrs.Everett (Debra) McElfresh of Plum Borough and Karen Atkins at home,and two sisters,Mrs.Gordon (Connie) Bethem of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Gary (Joyce) Dull of Belle Vernon. Friends were received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to p.m. at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Services were held Wednesday,Sept.8,1982 at 10 o'clock at the funeral home,with the Rev.Lee Dinsel,pastor of First United Methodist Church of Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial was in Belle Vernon cemetery.
