Obituary

Frederick A. Freddie Miller,89,of Charleroi,died Tuesday,Feb.6,1990,in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc.,Carroll Township.  Born June 12,1900,in Pittsburgh,he was the son of the late Frederick and Ethel V.Addison Miller.  Mr.Miller was a retired director of safety and police at the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.  A U.S.Navy veteran,he served in both World War I and Word War II.  He was a charter member of VFW Post 167,Charleroi,a member of American Legion Post 484,Fayette City,member and past president of World War I Barracks 0350,member of B.P.O.E. Lodge 494 and The Last 2 Men's Club,both of Charleroi,and a former member and past president of the Charleroi Lions Club.  In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by two sons,Charles G.and Edward L.Miller.  Surviving are one daughter,Mrs.Ronald (Ruth Ann) Oates of Charleroi,one brother,Cornelius Acton of Bradford,six grandchildren,eight great-grandchildren,one nephew,Patrick Acton of Bradford,one niece,Ethel V.Miller of Braden,and a friend,Jean T.Simonin of Charleroi.  Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.,226 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,where services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m.with the Rev.Francis M.Blair of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi officiatng.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home Inc.
