Obituary

Freeda Mae Steele-Skibo-Cheek Tempe, Ariz. Freeda Mae Steele-Skibo-Cheek, passed away peacefully on Aug. 29, 2012, at 12:45 a.m. at her home in Tempe, Ariz., where she lived since 1995 with her son, Jeffrey Bruce Skibo. She was born in Jefferson, Pa., Oct. 13, 1925, to Olive Edith (Wells) Steele and spent most of her life in the Mon Valley. In addition to her son, Jeffrey, and Edgar Esteban, she also leaves behind a daughter, Darla Jeanne and her husband, Mark Altemara of Belle Vernon, son, James Gary Skibo and wife, Linda, of Fayette City, and son, Brian Vincent Skibo and wife, Joy, of Ormand Beach, Fla. She is survived by six grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and her brother, Elmer Leo Steele of Roscoe. Freda was the wife of the late James Edward Skibo and her late second husband, Earl B. Cheek of Canonsburg. Private funeral service were held and she was laid to rest with her late husband, Earl B. Cheek, at the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
