Obituary

Fred Young, 72, of 307 Fell St., Belle Vernon, died at his home Thursday Feb.20,1969,at 10 a.m. Mr. Young, who was born in Louisa, Ky., July 6, 1898, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monessen, St. Albans Lodge,Free and Accepted Masons of Youngstown, Ohio, and Aut Mori Grotto, of Youngstown. A veteran of World War I, having served with the U. S. Army, be retired seven years ago as assistant superintendent of the blast furnace at the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Mr. Young came to Belle Vernon 26 years ago from Lowellville,Ohio. Surviving are his widow, Edna Clark Young, a son, Leslie of Tempe. Ariz., two daughters, Mrs William (Helen) Campbell of Poland, hio, and Mrs. Theodore (Doris) Jones of Elgin,Ohio, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home, Belle Vernon, after 7 p.m.Feb.22 and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.Feb.23. Service there Monday,Feb.24,at 1:30 p.m.with the Rev.Glen H.Burrows,pastor of Monessen's First Presbyterian Church,officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director.
