Obituary

Fred Vigne,a former street commissioner for the City of Monessen,a post he had for 18 years,died Tuesday,March 30,1965,at 4 p.m.at his home after a lingering illness.  Mr.Vigne lived at 304 Third St.,Monessen.  After his street commissioner job,Mr.Vigne was employed by the Pennsylvania Highway Dept.  Born in France he had been a Monessen resident for the past 57 years.  Preceding him in death were his wife,Marie Martin Vigne,in 1919,and a son,Alfred E.,in 1947.  Mr.Vigne was a member of the Hungarian Beneficial Club,the Slovak Home and the Franco-Belgium Beneficial Society,all of Monessen.  Surviving are two daughters,Esther Vigne at home and Mrs.August (Dorothy) Guibourdanche of Monessen;three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Friends are being received at the H.Denver Rhome Funeral Home,Monessen,where a Blessing Service will take place Friday,April 2,at 9:30 a.m.followed by Requiem High Mass in St.Cajetan's R.C.Church,Monessen at 10 a.m.  The Rev.Msgr.Nunrio Pirulli,pastor,will officiate.  Interment will be private at Belle Vernon Cemetery.  H.Denver Rhome,funeral director.
