Fred Vance;67;of 321 Schoonmaker Ave.;Monessen;died Wednesday;Jan.1;1975;at 12;20 a.m. in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Fayette City on June 19;1907;and had worked as a toll collector on the Pennsylvania Turnpike until his retirement. He was a member of Monessen Eagles Lodge 2399. Surviving are his widow;Ann Guzzie Vance;two sons;Fred Vance of Detroit;Mich.;and William Vance of Monessen;one brother;Thomas Vance of Monongahela R.D.;two sisters;Mrs.Anna Mae Carlson of Perryopolis and Mrs.Robert (Margaret) Mclaughlin of Belle Vernon;and six grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ed Melenyzer Funeral Home;Monessen;from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Friday. Services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev.Howard E.Kennedy;pastor of First United Methodist Church;Belle Vernon;officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Ed Melenyzer is funeral director in charge.
