Fred Matrozzo;65;of 112 Second St.;Belle Vernon;died Friday;Feb.2;1973;at 9:30 a.m. in the Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Italy Oct.20;1907;and was a resident of the Belle Vernon area over 60 years. He was a member of St.Sebastian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon. He retired due to disability 13 years ago from the Belle Vernon Area School District where he was employed as a custodian. Surviving are his widow;Theresa Settini Matrozzo;two sons;James of Belle Vernon and Fred Jr.at home;one daughter;Mrs.Dolores Hauser of Monessen;three brothers;Anthony;Frank and Ralph;all of Belle Vernon;two stepbrothers;Joseph Vadella of Belle Vernon and Patrick Vadella of Roscoe;his stepfather;Joseph Vadella of Fayette City;one sister;Mrs.Angeline Cherock of Arlington;Va.;six grandchildren. Friends will be received after 7 p.m.Saturday and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.Sunday at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home in Belle Vernon;where a prayer service will be held Monday;Feb.5;at 8:30 a.m.followed by Mass of Resurrection at 9 a.m.at St.Sebastian R.C.Church in Belle Vernon;with Msgr.Martin J.O’Toole as celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is the funeral director.
