Obituary

Fred L. Matson, age 66, well Known and respected resident of this city, died at the home of his son, Don F. Matson, 606 Donner avenue,Monessen at 2:10 Monday afternoon,January 22,1934, following a lingering illness. Mr. Matson was born in Michigan, but later removed to Jamestown,N.Y., coming from that city to Monessen 29 years ago. During the past 28 years he had held a position of trust at the Page Steel & Wire Co.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was organizer and teacher of the Tuckabatchee class of the Sunday School. He was also a member of the Monessen Lodge No. 773 B. P. O.Elks and for years was Chaplin of the organization. He also belonged to the Modern Woodmen of America. Surviving are one son, Don F. Matson of Monessen and a sister, Mrs. Blanche Servoss of Indianopolis.  Funeral services will be held by the Elks on Wednesday evening at the home at 8 o'clock and the lodge will also have charge of the services at the Presbyterian Church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with interment following in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
