On Saturday evening about 7:20 o'clock Mr. Frank Varchulik, who resides near the old Henderson Mine tipple on the Moneasen-Webster highway, was struck by an automobile driven by a man of unknown identity. The driver of the car did not stop to render assistance, but sped away. The victim was found by a driver of the Pittsburgh Motor Bus company, picked up and taken to the office of Dr. J. F. Kelly, on Donner avenue, where it was found he had suffered a fracture of the leg and was otherwise injured. He was sent to the Charieroi-Monessen hospital, where death resulted shortly after 9 o'clock. The man was aged sixty years. Two sons and two daughters survive. The remains were taken to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mary Konore, at Pricedale, where funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon.
