Obituary

Frank L. Manown, 74, of Belle Vernon (Lynnwood), died Wednesday, July 27, 2005, in his home. A son of the late Clinton H. and Ida Lermineaux Manown, he was born in Rostraver Township on March 15, 1931. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, he was a member of Calvary Bible Church in North Charleroi and a charter member of the Laurel Hunting Lodge. An avid golfer, Mr. Manown was inducted to the Belle Vernon Football Hall of Fame and was a corporal in the U.S. Army, serving with the combat engineers during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1987 after 36 years from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co., where he was a motor inspector. Survivors include his wife, Mary Roush Manown, with whom he would have celebrated 54 years of marriage on Oct. 19, 2005, a daughter, Melanie Bryner and husband Donald of Florida, two sons, Frank C. Manown and fiancee Kathy, and Brad J. Manown and wife Sharon, all of Belle Vernon, three grandchildren, Tara Holler, Lindsey Manown and Jeffrey Manown, and four sisters-in-law, Jane, Evelyn, Lee and Carolyn Manown, all of Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Rebecca Jannotta, Naomi Kuss, Louise Bedner and Adele Cramer, and six brothers, William, Martin, George, Clinton, Jack and Kirby Manown. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, a Golden Rule Member Firm, 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Saturday, July 30, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jeffrey Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
