Frank Kocian of 10 James St.;Belle Vernon;died Thursday;Nov.10;1977;at 10:46 a.m.in Brownsville General Hospital. He was 90. Mr.Kocian was born Sept.15;1887 in Czechosolvakia. He was a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley and a lifeling coal miner having retired in 1952. Mr.Kocian was a member of St.Sebastian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon;and Jednola Lodge;Branch 155;Charleroi. He was preceded in death by his wife;Mari Janac Kocian;in 1965;a son;Frank Jr.;in 1971;and a daughter;Rose Sedlak;in 1973. Survivors include one son;Steve Kocian of Belle Vernon;six daughters;Mrs.Thomas (Helen) Mogan of Massachusetts;Mrs.Joseph (Agnes) Fidnarik of Belle Vernon;Mrs.Frank (Mary) Blumenstock of New Jersey;Mrs.Maurice (Ann) Jeffers of Michigan;Mrs.Joseph (Margaret) Butera of Charleroi;and Mrs.Joseph (Dolores) Snyder of Ohio;17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon;from 7 to 9 p.m.Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Sunday. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m.followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian R.C.Church;Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
