Obituary

Frank Kocian Jr.,45,of 10 Belmont Ave.,Garfield,N.J.,died Saturday,Nov. 20,1971,at 12:30 p.m. in Veterans Hospital,Bronx,N.Y.  Born Aug. 16,1926 in Belle Vernon,he lived in Monessen and Belle Vernon much of his life, moving to Garfield eight years ago.  Until his retirement six years ago, because of illness, he was employed by the Eastern Corrugated Corp.,Clifton, N.J.  Mr. Kocian was a veteran of World War II.  He was a member of Most Holy Name R.C.Church,Garfield and its Holy Name Society. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Margaret Gnip Kocian, a Monessen native; a son David and a daughter Sharon, at home; his father, Frank Kocian Sr. of Belle Vernon; one a brother, Steve Kocian of Belle Vernon; seven sisters,Mrs. William (Rose) Sedlak of Springfield,N.J., Mrs. Thomas (Helen) Mogan of Waltham, Mrs. Joseph (Agnes) Fidnarik of Belle Vernon,Mrs. Frank (Mary) Blumenstock of Rutherford,N.J.,Mrs. Maurice (Ann) Jeffers of Swartz Creek,Mich.,Mrs. Joseph (Margaret) Butera of Charleroi and Mrs. Joseph (Dolores) Snyder of Westlake,Ohio. Friends will be received at theShelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon, after 7 p.m. Monday and on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. A Prayer service will be held at the funeral home,Wednesday,Nov. 24 at 9:30 a.m.,followed by Requiem High Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,with the pastor Msgr. Martin J. O'Toole, as celebrant.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
