Obituary

Frank H. Holroyd, a resident of Monessen for the past 47 years, died Sunday, June 29,1947 at 4 p. m. in the McKeesport hospital where he was removed several days ago. He had been ailing for the past several weeks. He was 73 years of age. Mr. Holroyd came to Monessen in 1900, as a clerk for the P & L. E. railroad and was employed continuously since that time at the local freight station until his retirement in July, 1945, at which time he was assistant chief clerk.  He was an active member of the First Christian Church. Surviving are a son, Frank, of Monessen, and a grandson, Floyd, of Charleroi; one great granddaughter, two brothers and a sister. Friends are being received at the Kelley-Rhome Mortuary on McKee avenue,where services will be held Wednesday afternoon,July second at 2 o'clock with the Rev. O.E.Bennett,pastor of the First Christian Church,officiating.  Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  R.S.Kelly and Denver Rhome,funeral directors.
