Frank E. Wasco; 72; of Belle Vernon; Rostraver Township; died Saturday; May 3; 2003; at 12:15 p.m.; at Manor Care; McMurray. Born Nov. 13; 1930; in North Charleroi; the son of the late Frank and Mary Sharkey Wasco. Mr. Wasco was a resident of Belle Vernon for the past 50 years. He was an active member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Belle Vernon; where he served as an usher. He was a former member of the Parish Council and served with the annual CSC appeal. Mr. Wasco was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Monessen Plant; where he worked as an electrical draftsman. He also served as president of Tri-County Federation of Musicians; Local 592 A.F.M.; he organized annual county parks summer concert series; served as secretary for Labor United; was a private pilot; retired major from the Civil Air Patrol; Auxiliary U.S. Air Force; Search and Rescue Operation; an officer of the Rostraver Flyers and a band leader and accordionist of the Clevelandairs. He is survived by his wife; Dorothy Grzywinski Wasco; to whom he was married 48 years; three sons and daughters-in-law; Kenneth and Diane Wasco of Bergholtz; Ohio; Ron and Mary Ann Wasco of Tyrone; Pa.; and William and Lynn Wasco of Lawrence; Pa.; two daughters; Kathy Gray of Monongahela and Melanie Wasco of Littleton; Colo.; four grandchildren; Rachel; Matt and Leland Gray and Cassie J. Wasco; and a cousin; Billy Sharkey of Georgia. Visitation will be held Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; family owned and operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon; 724-929-6183. A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home; followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Belle Vernon. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian Parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Frank E. Wasco; Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
