Frank David Smoody Sr.;34;of 725 B.Malmedy Village;Clairton;a former resident of Belle Vernon R.D.2;died in Veterans Hospital;Aspinwall;on Saturday July 13;1963;after an extended illness. Mr.Smoody was born in Crucible;June 19;1929 and was a veteran of World War II. A resident of Clairton the past five and one-half years;he was employed as a machine operator for Liggett Spring and Axle Co.;East Monongahela. Surviving are his widow;Catherine Rukavina Smoody;three sons;Frank David Jr.;Daniel and John;all at home;his parents;Mr.and Mrs.John Smoody.of Belle Vernon R.D.2;two brothers;Alex S.of Louisville;Ky.and Charles William of Pricedale;and a sister;Helen M.Smoody of Belle Vernon R.D.2. Friends are being received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon; where Prayer services will be held Tuesday;July 16;at 9:30 a.m.followed by service of Requiem High Mass at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian R.C. Church;Belle Vernon. Rev.Martin J.O’Toole will officiate. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson;funeral director.
