Frank D. Chew Jr.; 88; of North Charleroi; died Sunday; March 30; 2008; in the emergency room at Mon Valley Hospital. He was born July 1; 1919; in Belle Vernon; a son of the late Frank D. Sr. and Lottie Hough Chew. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Charleroi. Mr. Chew was employed at Page Wire and Steel Plant in Monessen and retired from the maintenance department at Mon Valley Hospital. He is survived by two daughters; Linda Lapinsky; of North Charleroi; and Rosemarie (Ronald) Bird; of Belle Vernon; his son; Frank D. III (Joanne) Chew; of Dayton; Ohio; his sister; June Hixenbaugh; of Stockdale; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one sister-in-law; Shirley Chew; of Belle Vernon; one brother- in-law; Anthony Mosco Sr.; of Monessen; cousins; and a few special cats and a special rabbit. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Elise Bertin Chew; on December 16; 2007; with whom he celebrated 67 years of marriage on August 10; 2007; a sister; Betty; a brother; Glenn Chew; a brother-in-law; Alfred Buddy Hixenbaugh; and a sister-in-law; Yvette Mosco. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC.; (www.schrock-hogan.com); 226 Fallowfield Ave.; Charleroi; where funeral services will be held Thursday; April 3; at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jim Linn Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
