Obituary

Frank Coates of Brownstown,Fayette City R.D.1,died Monday,June 30,1986,in Mercy Hospital,Pittsburgh,following a brief illness.  He was 77. Mr. Coates was born Jan.11,1909,in Brownsville,a son of the late George and Catherine Pochlopek Coates. He was a member of the Fayette City United Presbyterian Church.  Mr. Coates was retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation, Allenport Plant. Survivors include his wife, Anna Mae Davies Coates;two daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Iris) Thomas of Belle Vernon and Marcia Rae Coates at home;two grandchildren;four great-grandchildren;five brothers, Stanley Coates of Arnold City,Belle Vernon,Joseph Coates of Aliquippa,and Michael,Peter and Thomas Coates,all of Fayette City R.D.1;and five sisters,Pauline Korch of McKeesport,Mary Kaufman of Largo,Fla.,and Rose Homanics,Mrs. Michael (Helen) Yetsconish and Blanche Coates,all of Fayette City R.D.1. Friends will be received in the Howard W. McCrory Funeral home,Fayette City,on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.,and on Thursday,July 3,until 2 p.m.,when services will be held with the Rev. Robert Cromwell,pastor of the Fayette City United Presbyterian Church,officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
