Obituary

Francis Samoda of 119 Beaumont St.,Belle Vernon,died at his home Tuesday,Sept.17,1985,at 7:20 a.m. He was 57. Born October 16,1927,he was a son of the late Andrew and Fronie Konosky Samoda. Mr.Samoda was a member of the Charleroi Eagles Aerie,Lodge 390 and was employed at Corning Glass in Charleroi for 39 years. Mr.Samoda served as a U.S.Army corporal and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Surviving are two brothers,Eugene Samoda at home and Kenneth Samoda of Belle Vernon and a sister,Verna Mae Samoda,at home. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with Dr.John H.Arnold of the Library Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
