Mrs. Fannie Elinore Romer,83,of 207 Vernon St.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly Monday,August 24,1970 at 11:30 a.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. She was a member of St. Sebastian R.C, Church and American Legion Post 659 Auxiliary,both of Belle Vernon. A Belle Vernon resident 54 years,Mrs. Romer was born in Waynesburg. Preceding her in death were her husband,Albert L. Romer,in 1947,and a daughter,Helen Redigan in 1968. Surviving are a daughter,Mrs. William ( Ruth ) Steen of Belle Vernon,with whom she made her home;a brother,Osborne Scott of Allenport;two sisters, Mrs. Bennett of Broussard,La.,and Mrs. Zella Knoferer of Sunbury,Ohio;five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m. Aug. 25. Prayers there on Thursday,Aug. 27 at 9:30 a.m. followed by Requiem High Mass in St. Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon at 10 a.m. The Very Rev. Martin J. O'toole,pastor, will officiate. Interment, Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson is funeral director.
