Evo J. Mencarelli,58,of 629 Speers Ave.,Speers (Charleroi),died suddenly at 2:10 p.m. Saturday,Jan. 15,1977 in the Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Italy on Jan. 22,1918,a son of the late Victor Mencarelli and Mrs. Bruna Lazzari Mencarelli,who survives. Mr. Mencarelli retired from the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., where he had worked as a craneman,on Jan. 1,1976. He served with the U.S. Marines during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He belonged to the American Legion Post of Charleroi,Veterans of Foreign Wars Post of Charleroi and the Charleroi Sportsmen's Club. Mr. Mencarelli resided in Speers the past 25 years,having formerly been a resident of Belle Vernon.Surviving are his widow,Margaret Gelotti Mencarelli;one son,Ronald J. Mencarelli of Belle Vernon;one daughter,Ranel N.,at home;his mother,Mrs. Bruna Mencarelli of Belle Vernon; one brother,Delford W. Mencarelli of Monessen;two sisters,Mrs. Henry (Eva) Simone of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Paul (Lloyda) Kostolansky of Belle Vernon and two grandchidlren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. John J. Thomas of Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
