Everett D. Vernaccini; 88; of
Micco; Fla.; died Thursday;
Jan. 28; 1999; in Sebastian
River Medical Center; Roseland;
Fla.; following a lengthy
illness.
Born Oct. 22; 1910; in Belle
Vernon; he had moved to Micco
in 1982 from Brandyvine. Md.
Mr. Vernaccini had been
owner operator of the Aquarium
Restaurant and Bar in
Monessen.
He later opened other restaurants;
including the Wigwam
Restaurant in Brandywine;
the Charlotte Hall Restaurant and Bar in Charles
County; Md.; the French Quarter
and O’Henry’s in Washington;
D.C.
He was a 1934 graduate of
Duquesne University in
Pittsburgh.
Mr. Vernaccini was a life
member of 63 years of B.P.O.
Elks Lodge 773 Monessen. He
was also a member of Moose
Lodge 1767 in Sebastian; Han Yang Masonic Lodge of Seoul;Korea. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite;Washington;D.C. He was also a member of Almas Temple of the Shrine;Washington;D.C. Mr.Vernaccini was a veteran of World War II;having served in the U.S.Coast Guard Merchant Marines on board the USS Henry Austin. He was on the staff of the U.S.State Department in Pakistan and Korea and was personal assistant to the Charirman of Foreign Affairs. He was assistant service officer on the largest inland ship;SS Aquarama;Chicago;Ill. Survivors include his wife of 60 years;Dorothy Vernaccini;onedaughter;Georgetta Bravo Vernaccini Coombs of Bowie;Md.;and two grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday;Feb.2.at 11a.m.in St.Sebastian Catholic Church;Sebastian;Fla. Inurnment will be at a later date in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers;donations may be made to St.Sebastian Catholic Church Mortgage Fund;P.O.Box 781212;Sebastian;Fla.;32958;in memory of Mr.Vernaccini. The Shunk Funeral Home;1623 N.Central Ave.;Sebastian;Fla.;is in charge of arrangements.
