Evelyn Diethorn McManus,72,of 605 Baltimore St.,Belle Vernon,died Saturday, July 24,1993,at 6:50 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born May 26,1921 in Pittsburgh,a daughter of the late George and Teresa Funk Diethorn. She was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon community. She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. She retired in 1982 from the Belle Vernon Area School District,where she had been employed for 20 years as a secretary and teacher's aide. Survivors include her husband,James C.McManus.four sons, James M. McManus of Charleroi,Dennis L. McManus of New Stanton,Dr. Kevin T. McManus of Sea Girt, N.J. and Mark F. McManus of Rostraver Township; 13 grandchildren;four brothers, George,Lionel and Walter Diethorn, all of Belle Vernon and Dennis Diethorn of Charleroi;and two sisters,Mrs. Joseph (Phyllis) Sabol of Belle Vernon,and Mrs. Joseph (Mildred) Allfree of Speers Hill. In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Boltze in 1973. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. A Prayer service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3826 will hold services Monday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
