Mrs.Basits was born April 2;1910;in Grindstone;a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Addis Chiplaskey. In addition to her parents;she was preceded in death by her husband;Alex F.Basits Sr.;on Jan.26;1986;by a sister;Elizabeth Nichol;and by two brothers;Robert and Kenneth Chiplaskey. Mrs.Basits had been a resident of the Belle Vernon community since 1935. She was a member of the First Christian Church;Belle Vernon. Surviving are a son;Alex F.Basits Jr.;of Belle Vernon;two daughters;Mrs.John (Mary Lou) Kalakewich of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Betty Jane Simpson of Centerville;Va.;one brother;Roy Chiplaskey;of Grindstone;10 grandchildren;and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home;with the Rev.Donald A.Bowers;pastor;First Christian Church;Belle Vernon;officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
