Obituary

Evelyn Bauer, 93, formerly of Belle Vernon and Perryopolis, died Thursday, June 24, 2004, in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. A daughter of the late Guido and Croce Biagini, she was born in Belle Vernon on Oct. 10, 1910. Throughout the years, she had been a member of both St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and St. John the Baptist Church in Perryopolis. She was a member of the Annita Garibaldi Society and the Catholic Daughters of America Court 1522, both of Belle Vernon. Mrs. Bauer was an elementary school teacher at St. John the Baptist Catholic School from 1962 until her retirement in 1977. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Nancy Bauer, of Lorain, Ohio, a son-in-law, James Holiday and his wife, Jovina, of Somerset, three grandchildren, Erin Holiday and his wife, Danielle, of Odenton, Md., Suzette Holiday, of Columbia, Md., and Kelly Bauer, of Lorain, Ohio, and three great-grandchildren, Farrell DiBart, Nicholas Holiday and Jacqueline Holiday. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Bauer, on June 27, 1987, two daughters, Janice Holiday and Grace Bauer, a grandson, Rod Holiday, two brothers, Bruno and George Biagini, and two sisters, Bruni Gianetti and Rose Owens. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICE, (724-929-5300), a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. A blessing service will be in the funeral home Monday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
