Evan Michael Walters, 24, of Fayette City, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, in Pittsburgh. A son of Emory and Stephanie Marciak Walters of Fayette City, he was born in Monongahela on Feb. 13, 1979. He was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church of Fayette City, where he had been an altar boy and lector. A 1997 graduate of Belle Vernon Area High School, he was in the gifted program and had been a cub scout and boy scout in his youth. Evan had resided most of his life in Fayette City, and in Pittsburgh, while attending the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He was employed by Fragile Paradise Florists, where he designed and delivered flowers. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include one brother, Robert Paholsky of Monessen; one sister and brother-in-law, Christa and Brett Patterson of Carroll Township; his maternal grandmother, Mary Marciak of Roscoe; and aunts and uncles, David and Margaret Holman of Roscoe, Charles Marciak of Monongahela, Robert Marciak of Philadelphia, William Walters of New Jersey, Jack Walters of Florida and Barbara Reid of Belle Vernon. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles Marciak; and his paternal grandparents, Juanita and Michael Kupirovich. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., a Golden Rule Member Firm, (724-929-5300), Belle Vernon. Friends will gather in the funeral home Saturday, Sept. 20, at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to Holy Spirit R.C. Church for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Len McAlpin as celebrant. A wake service will be in the funeral home Friday at 7:30 p.m.
