Eva Stagi Smith, 80,of Rocky Creek Village,Tampa,Fla.,died Tuesday, March 7,2000,in St. Joseph Hospital, Tampa,Fla. Born on Oct. 6,1919,in Belle Vernon,she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Angelina Parenti Stagi. She was a graduate of Monessen High School with the class of 1937,and St. Petersburg Junior College in Florida. A retired nurse,she once worked in the Neurosurgical department of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Smith and by three sisters, Elvira Leclercq,Lillian DiBuono and Gloria Stopford. Survivors include one sister, Elda Stagi Miller of Indiana,Pa.;t wo brothers, William R. Stagi of Ruther Glen, Va.,and Joseph V. Stagi of Lutz, Fla. Friends will be received at the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc.,Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue,Monessen,on Tuesday,from 10 a.m.until the time of services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William C. Gawlas officiating. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
