Bazilwich Skurkay; 92; of Belle Vernon (Rostraver Township); died Sunday; May 8; 2005 in Mon Valley Hospital; Carroll Township. Born Jan. 7; 1913 in Monessen; she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Pasterchik Bazilwich. A homemaker; Mrs. Skurkay was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon and a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church; Belle Vernon. She is survived by a son; Peter Skurkay of Belie Vernon; three daughters; Mariann Mica of Smithton; Evelyn Russell of Charleroi and Margaret Cornett of Belle Vernon; two sisters; Ann Zuraw of Monongahela and Olga Sapinsky of Smithton; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; Peter Skurkay; on Aug. 13; 1969; a son; Serge Skurkay; and four brothers; Paul; John; Michael and Russell Bazilwich. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; family owned and operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). Relatives and friends will gather Wednesday; May 11 in Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church; Mary Street; Belle Vernon for 9 a.m. funeral services with the Very Rev. John J. Kluchko.
