Obituary
Mrs. Eva Samek,nee Mahilen,age 62 years,of Arnold City,Fayette City R.D.1,died in St. Francis Hospital,Pittsburgh,Monday,January 26,1948 at 1:20 a.m. She was born in Czechoslovakia,December 24,1885. She was a member of the Catholic Slovak Brotherhood 42,and St. Edwards Church,Fayette City. She is survived by her husband,John Samek,Sr.;one daughter,Mrs. Anna Tomalski of Fayette City,R.D.;two sons, John,Jr.of Fayette City,R.D. and Martin of Wilmerding;three sisters in Europe and eight grandchildren. Friends will be received at the late home. Services will be held there Thursday,January 29,1948,at 9 a.m.,followed by additional services at 9:30 a.m. in St. Edwards Church,in charge of Rev. Charles W. Ribick. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. George M.McCrory and Son are the funeral directors.
