Obituary

Eva Mazur, 87, of Beaver, formerly of Monessen, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at Friendship Ridge in Beaver. She was born Nov. 2, 1921, in Pricedale (Rostraver Township), a daughter of the late Wasil and Katie (Yadtowsky) Praskavich. Eva was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Monessen. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael Jr. and Frances Mazur, of Sewickley, and Ken Mazur, of Vanderbilt, one daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Edward Watson, of Nokesville, Va., two grandchildren, Amy Holmes and husband Alan, of Alexandria, Va., and Scott Watson, of Gaithersburg, Va., two step grandchildren, Benjamin Toman and wife Elizabeth, of Pittsburgh, and Vincent Toman and wife Dee, of Baldwin, four step great-grandchildren, Emma, Grace, Anthony and Zachary Toman, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Albert Wujcik, of Texas, Nellie and Melvin Tomko, of Belle Vernon (Lynnwood), and Doris and Melvin Guth, of the state of Indiana, two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Dorothy Praskavich, of West Newton, and Dan and Winnie Praskavich, of Jamestown, Pa., one sister-in-law, Mary Praskavich, of South Park, a dear friend, Mary Anne Sivak, of Monessen, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward Mazur, a sister, Ann Bosetti, two brothers, Michael and Walter Praskavich, and three daughters-in-law, Patricia, Carol and Rose Mary. Visitation will be held in the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen on Sunday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 8, at 10 a.m. with the Right Rev. Roman Yatskiv officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Parastas service will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 7 p.m.
