Mrs. Eunice Lyons,a former resident of Monessen, died Thursday,July 6,1950 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law,Dr. and Mrs. George Freer, in Liberty,N.Y.,where she has been residing for the past several years. The Lyons family resided in Gibsonton a number of years ago. The daughter,Mrs. Freer,is the former Vivian Lyons,a teacher in the Monessen public schools. Mr. Lyons died about 20 years ago. Since that time,Mrs. Lyons had resided with her daughter and a sister,Mrs. Greer Hare,also a former Monessen woman.Surviving are her daughter,Mrs. Freer;two sisters,Mrs. Greer Hare,Fayette City,R.D. and Mrs. William Johnson,and a brother,Foss Murphy,both of Maryland. Three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. Friends will be received at the Melenyzer Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m. Saturday night,July 8. Funeral services will be held Monday,July 10 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home with Rev. George Kress,pastor of the Belle Vernon Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
