Eugene P. Jack Gilmore; 86; of North Belle Vernon; died Monday; June 23; 2003; at 9 a.m. in Mon Valley Care Center; Carroll Township. Born July 23; 1916; in Uniontown; he was the son of the late Cora Gilmore. He was a lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon; a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Belle Vernon and was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Monessen Plant; where he worked as a steam plant operator. Mr. Gilmore was a veteran of World War II; having served in the U.S. Navy as a Fireman First Class; a life member and past president of the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department; a past member of the North Belle Vernon Borough Council; and a member and past Grand Knight of Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026. He also enjoyed writing poetry and had many poems published. He is survived by his wife; Helen Luzanski Gilmore; to whom he was married 65 years; one daughter; Anne Marie Gilmore of North Belle Vernon; one son; John Gilmore of Rostraver Township; and one granddaughter; Allyson Marie Gilmore of Rostraver Township. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; Family Owned and Operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). Services will be held Thursday; June 26; at 10 a.m. in the funeral home; followed by interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian Parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Eugene P. Gilmore Wednesday at 3 p.m.; and the North Belle Vernon Fire Department will conduct services Wednesday evening at 7; both in the funeral home.
